Homecoming events set for next week
September 20, 2024
Hamlin Collegiate ISD will ramp up the school spirit next week when it kicks off its 2024 homecoming activities. Special events will be held each day, beginning on Monday, and will culminate inĀ the annual Homecoming parade on Saturday, Sept. 28.
The fun will get under way on Monday, Sept. 23, when the school hosts its annual Egg-Toss Championships, and the powder puff football matchup. In the contest, the freshman class will face off against the juniors, while the sophomores will battle the seniors.
On Tuesday, the classes will stage their tug-o-war and cheer competitions, as well as hold the third- and first-place powder puff games. The winners from Monday's games will vie for first, while the losers will play for third.
On Wednesday, the action will return to Piper Stadium with "Youth Night at the Stadium." Among the activities scheduled will be corn hole, kick ball and volleyball.
High school football will take center stage on Thursday. The junior high and junior varsity football teams will play Quanah, starting at 5 p.m. The JV team is slated to kick off at 6:30 p.m.
Also on tap for Thursday will be a mini pep rally, completed with the lighting of HHS in the parking lot at the gym. The lighting will take place about 15 minutes after the completion of the JV matchup.
On Friday, the Homecoming pep rally will be held at 3 p.m. at Piper Stadium. The varsity game with Quanah will start at 7 p.m.
On Saturday, the week's activities will include the annual Homecoming parade at 11:30 a.m., followed by the homecoming dance at HCHS from 8-11 p.m.
