Residents of Jones County are invited to an engaging evening of civic participation and community connection at the upcoming 2026 Meet the Candidates Dinner, set for Thursday, January 22nd at the historic Anson Opera House, located at 1120 11th Street, Anson.
The event, hosted by Jones County 4-H and the Texas Extension Education Association (TEEA), aims to empower voters with firsthand knowledge of the upcoming election season. Dinner will be served promptly at 6:00 p.m., followed by candidate presentations beginning at 6:30 p.m. Attendees will hear from individuals seeking public office, learn about key ballot initiatives, and receive important information about voter registration, deadlines, and polling locations for the 2026 elections.
In addition to fostering civic engagement, the dinner supports youth educational programs through Jones County 4-H. Proceeds from ticket sales will go directly toward enriching local youth development initiatives, including leadership training, agricultural education, and STEM activities.
